	The Pan Glasgow Sterile Service Department handles instruments from some six hospitals in the Glasgow area. The Matrix Marking equipment is working with the T-DOC tracking software.


	The Matrix Marking system is being used to link instrument traceability back to individual patients and their notes. This is probably the most comprehensive use of our system in any UK hospital.


	In the UK the major interest has been in the traceability of supplementary instruments. In the USA the major drive has been to ensure effective set production. This is seen as a cost driven exercise.
